Just A Moment

Has anyone ever asked you to do something...and you said "I will, in just a moment". Or needed to tell someone something, and you said "I'll tell them tomorrow".
Maybe you want to call your mom, but the minutes got away from you... so you put it off til the next night, then the next night?

I am all too aware of the lesson "If tomorrow never comes..." ...Everyone does, we have all lost someone. You, who are reading this post, right now you are thinking of your someone... Everyone is fighting some sort of battle, we're all in this life together and nobody gets out alive... so we cry together, and we fight together...the best part of life is when we laugh together.

The people of Norway need prayers as they are in a nightmare of sorrow, as many people lost their lives, and many people lost their loved ones. My heart breaks watching the youtube videos of the violence they endured.

I have 3 friends that need prayers tonight, and tomorrow, and the next day-- if you think about it at any moment, pray.

First: My best friend Amanda Roshto needs prayers for her mother. Mama Betty has survived cancer. She's suffered other medical issues in the past few years, and young Amanda has been taking care of her mother and tending to her needs. Betty is young- only 62 years old, and had to have emergency surgery last week, and then this weekend was clinging to life and the doctors are still unsure why. Although, she has been improving-- Amanda's heart is breaking, she worries about her mom and hasn't left her side. Pray for God to guide the hands of the nurses and doctors caring for Amanda's mother, pray for them to find the answers so they can begin treating her and she can begin healing, and pray for strength and comfort for Amanda. I visited them in ICU yesterday, and Mama Betty had improved so much- she was breathing on her own and talking to us, though she was very disoriented. Amanda, I love you! Praying for you and your mama, and asking all those that read this blog to pray for your family as well.

Second prayer request: My friend Rebecca Hadel. On July 8th, she was in a horrific car accident. She has not woken up yet--- but we are very hopeful that she will. She is improving every day...her progress is amazing. It is an absolute miracle that she survived such a crash. God had his hand on her that night. Her mother Lynn, her sister Sarah, and her 3 year old son Davis were also in the car that night. Lynn suffered broken ribs and is at home healing, Sarah suffered a broken collar bone, also at home healing... and God must have been a shield for sweet Davis, he has only a scratch on his forehead.... and he is also at home...however, Davis had nightmares of the crash and misses his mommy dearly. Carolyn, a good friend of mine, is Becca's other sister. Carolyn has been going back and forth- taking care of her mom, taking care of Becca, updating her caringbridge site so that all of us can get updates on her progress... Carolyn is an incredible person, I'm priveledged to call my friend. You can read Becca's caring bridge to get specific prayer needs for Becca, but also pray for Carolyn, that she has the strength to continue her ministry in caring for her family. And pray for sweet Davis, as he adjusts to his "new normal" while his mom is away getting better.

Lastly: Pray for my friend Lauren's sister, Courtney. She has surgery tomorrow-- she has brain surgery tomorrow at 2pm at Duke University Hospital to attempt to remove a brain tumor. She has a newborn baby girl that she holds in her arms tonight, too. Her baby is not allowed to visit her whilst she is in the hospital, so this is very hard for her. Please pray for her and her family. Here is the link to her caringbridge as well:

"I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord." Psalm 40:1-3

"Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world." ~Martina McBride, Love's the Only House

Pray... Just Pray.
