Jenna performed in front of over 200 people at the Halloween Hooplah in downtown Greer on Saturday, October 24, 2009. She has been working so hard, and has been so excited about this play...but when she laid eyes on the crowd, she started to panic and cry. Poor baby ruined her mascara and I held her and told her to pretend everyone is mommy-- to which she replied "I just want you to be my mommy" ... HA HA. :) cute!
But then I reminded her all about how Miley Cyrus gets on stage and performs as Hannah Montana... and Jenna said " I can be Hannah 'Ontana pretending to be a munchkin!".... I couldn't help but smile... even though Jenna was as serious as she could be. So we began our walk through downtown with the rest of the cast towards the stage...Jenna was given hand outs to pass out telling people about the upcoming play at Greer Children's Theatre--The Wizard of OZ that she is performing in. She was really shy at first...but opened up and managed to pass out all of her fliers without my help! She started to have that "panic" look again when she saw the stage- but before I could get to her, one of the "stage mom's" took her by the hand and put her up on stage.
I watched with crossed fingers... and... SHE DID IT! She NAILED her dance and she sang and did all the right choreography!!! I am so proud of her! And when she was done she looked at me and said "mommy! I messed up my mascara and it wasn't even scary!" ... =) I think that she's going to do just MARVELOUS in the show!
If you don't have tickets yet- get them at http://www.greerculturalarts.com/ --- There are 7 different show times on 6 different days (2 weekends)... so I hope you can make at least one of them! It's really going to be a great show!! (And not just the munchkins-- all of our cast is really amazing, I work the microphone switch board- and I never get tired of watching the play- it's such a very entertaining production with a lot of truely talented actors!)

So sweet! I just love the way they think at that age and to listen to the things that come out of their mouths!
