A few months ago, Jenna made up her own blessing prayer at school. They always pray before snack and lunch time and Jenna just out of the blue started one of her own. She was beginning to get out of hand- her prayers lately have been quite interesting, she sings them sometimes, she laughs and tells jokes to God... just all in all quite interesting pre-dinner prayers. Her usual prayer always starts with "Love more Jesus, Let me Bless for Our food"....then she moves on to the things she would like to sing or do, and always ends with two Amen's. (one pronounced Ahh-men, the other Ay-men).Last night we asked her to have a serious prayer. We explained to her how prayer is a special time between her and God, and while he may love her singing and smile at her playfulness, sometimes he might like to hear a serious prayer where you tell him what is on your mind and how you feel.

This was her prayer last night:
"Love more Jesus, Let me Bless for Our Food. I love my family and I love you too. Amen, Amen."
Jenna also has a habit with asking God questions...and coming back later all excited saying he told her "yes" or "no". For example, there's a child in her class whose parents are going through a divorce and I'm guessing he told her that his parent's marriage was "going away"...I say this because one night a few weeks back, Jenna said to me "Mom- I asked God if you and Daddy's marriage was going to ever go away, and he said no, that you guys love each other and will never go away".... ha ha. :) Thanks be to God! Eric and I were both glad to hear that there was hope for us after all HA HA!
And while we were leaving Wal-Mart on Tuesday of this week, Jenna had a full conversation with Riley. I just smiled - she was laughing and giggling and simply pretending (or was she?)...and it just made me happy to see how happy she was, and how she completely understands how someone can be in heaven, and still be a part of her life.
Seeing her happiness- made me wish I could bottle up some of her sweet innocence...oh, how much we could all learn from our children!
